MARK KRONFUSS, Potter
"I have a playful approach to hard work and a focused rhythm when I am in the studio. The interpretation of function is influenced by my engagement in the process, capturing my personality with a response to the materials. I make use of an expressive surface treatment and the inherent characteristics of clay, exploring its qualities through drawing, carving, and the layering of slips and glazes. I treat my large forms as a canvas by arranging glazes in a controlled manner, complementing the vessel with emerging and dissolving figures. My work is fired in atmospheric kilns and I see this as an opportunity to release my hands from direct contact with the work. The firing process creates an element of chance and a moment of surprise in the finished piece." |

WARREN FISHER
I worked in a lumber mill for forty years and thought there should be a use for worn out saw blades, other than being thrown in a scrap pile. I started cutting out wildlife scenes on them. There are no two alike. |
